PARENT AND STUDENT HANDBOOK
All parents of our students will receive a new Parent and Student Handbook usually the first week of October. The handbook is available in several languages such as Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese and Spanish; if you need one please contact the main office. It is a good idea for families to read this book together. It contains a wealth of important information on district policies and education codes regarding school operations. It spells out student and parent rights and responsibilities. Familiarize yourself with new and vital district policies. Keep it handy in your file cabinet or family desk and use it as a reference guide. To borrow a quote from NBC, “The more you know…”
The last page, on the inside cover, contains a parent acknowledgment statement and tear-off that each homeroom teacher needs to collect. Fill out the tear-off completely, printing clearly, and sign it. There is also a form regarding notification of certain activities on campus and an information release form. Those tear-offs should be filled out by parents/guardians only. They are to be returned to the homeroom teacher. Teachers may assign a work habits grade for the return of these forms. If parents choose not to fill out these two forms the school will assume that you will allow release of information to sources such as colleges and the military, and do not need to be notified of certain events. Nobel is cautious about notifying parents of most everything that happens on campus and we guard student information carefully.
Thank you,
