After-School Activities
Nobel Middle School offers a variety of activities for students after school hours. Since the school grounds are closed 30 minutes after the final dismissal bell, any student who chooses to stay at school must report to the Beyond the Bell program 1/2 hour after dismissal. Students participating in clubs and tutoring must remain with their sponsor. The service road to the gymnasium is open for adults to pick up their child.
Clubs - Offered during the school year and sponsored by Nobel's staff. A variety of clubs are available from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Only students who normally ride the school bus have the option of taking a "late bus" to the middle school nearest their home. Applications will be sent home when the program starts.
Tutoring - Offered during the school year and sponsored by Nobel's staff. Sessions are available from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Tutoring is designed for students who (1) have scored "Below Basic" or "Far Below Basic" on the last California Standards Test (CST), or (2) have received a "Fail" in a regular Mathematics or English class, not "Honors." Only students who normally ride the school bus have the option of taking a "late bus" to the middle school nearest their home. Applications will be sent home when the program starts.
Youth Service Program- The goals of the program are to provide wholesome, supervised recreational and enrichment activities in a safe neighborhood environment after school hours. Our Physical Education facility is open to all students to participate in many sports activities, supervised by a Beyond the Bell personnel. There is also a room available for students to study and complete homework assignments. This program is provided by the Beyond the Bell branch of the LAUSD.
